The owner wanted an “outstanding pool with a glass end” at this magnificent site. The pool has a 4m long cantilever beyond the support piles. It was constructed with poured insitu, reinforced concrete supported on reinforced concrete piles bored down to the bedrock. Calculating the deflection of the pool cantilever when full of water required the end of the pool to be built up higher with a pre camber. The deflection calculation was perfect. When full of water the soffit of the pool sits exactly horizontal.
