On-site Wastewater Design

If you intend to develop a site or add bedrooms to an existing dwelling that is not serviced by a public network sewer, you will be required to upgrade the existing system or design a new effluent disposal system for the site. Decisions on the type of system and location of the disposal field are best made at the beginning of planning for a building project. Failure to allow the space required for discharge of wastewater on-site may cause a halt to your project at the consenting stage and force costly changes to your plans, to meet council requirements.
